Our client acts as a peak body in the financial services sector and is at the forefront of public policy and advocacy. It represents the interests of members, manages issues and supports industry positions through government lobbying, public affairs, industry forums and stakeholder liaison.

This organisation is seeking to appoint a Policy Advisor within their Consumer Relations & Market Development directorate.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying relevant policy issues
  • Consultation with members and relevant stakeholders
  • Preparing policy submissions on a wide range of matters
  • Developing consumer initiatives and financial literacy projects

The successful candidate will have a track record in policy development and stakeholder liaison, and must be able to demonstrate high level communication and analytical skills.

Working closely with member companies, State and Commonwealth governments, regulators and other industry and community associations, you will prepare policy submissions and lobby government representatives to support the achievement of industry goals.

To be successful in this role you will be tertiary qualified in either law, economics, public affairs or a similar field with proven experience in policy development and advice, ideally in a government or a corporate environment. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
