Infrastructure Engineer

My client has an immediate requirement for an Infrastructure Engineer to join the Sydney CBD based team. Well established organisation for over the last 20 years, they specialise in business and technical consulting, software, applications and enterprise integration.
  
The initial 6 month contract will require an experienced engineer to work on the build of a new series of environments within Amazon Web Services. You will be deploying the latest open source applications and developing process to scale the environment as required. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the development and implementation of deployment and upgrade processes.

 

Requirements include:

* 5 years experience dev/imp/deploy

* Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) highly desirable

* System Administration skills on Unix (pref red hat/ubuntu)

* Familiar with Unix Shells and Shell Scripting

* Perl experience desirable

* Good security and networking knowledge (firewalls/backup/recovery etc)

* Install, configure & monitor of software; Apache2, Tomcat, Postgres, Memached

* Proactive with analytical and problem solving skills

* Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
